How do you mount your coil?

I have damaged a new coil because it hit a sharp edge when it fell.
I just want to get some information how to mount a coil best, but don´t want to fix forever; I want a solid stood and also, if it is nessesary, change the coil quickly.

For my 4" coil, I used a 4" closet flange and some 1/4-20 nylon bolts to secure it.
For my 12" coil, I have a 5/8" dowel sticking out of the bottom that I just slip into a hole on my stand.
