How will you use it? The vast majority of Hall Effect sensors are effectively magnetic switches, giving an "on" level when a strong enough magnetic field is detected, and an "off" when a slightly lower field is detected. The demand for those is apparently much greater than for analog.

Here's parts by one manufacturer, though I'm sure there are several others:

There should be lots of data sheets and app notes on that website.

For my levitator, I use The output is 2.5 V at zero field and goes up or down by 1.3 mV/gauss.
I also used 40 of them in my magnetic field array.

Possible idea. Strip down a few dead JVC video recorders.

The capstan motors use a three pin sensor which appears to be a high sensitivity Hall-effect chip with analogue output, runs on 5V DC.

A similar part is also used on the head cylinder, for sensing the FG pulse.

i used the UGN3509 bought on futurlec for my levitator. They are cheap and very sensitive

Are these hall effect sensors? (pic 3) They look like the ones in the Mouser catalog. The black ones have five pins, and the green and white ones(pic 1) have four. I got some in a goldmine suprise box, others came out of random stuff.

Also anybody know what these three pin devices are? (pic2)

I've checked part #'s on all of these and I get nothing.

Black and green things in last pic are CF 455kHz filters, can be found in old wirelles phones and etc.

I'm not sure for the white thing but it could also be a filter or two small noise suppresion caps in same package (I have some such things here but with 3 pins, and there are 3 caps inside)

Middle dip-6 ish packages are most likely to be power mosfets or bjt's, I dug out some very similar looking mosfets from old hard drive, but they can also be diodes, hall snsors..

I think the white thing is an old bar led diffused type. I have something that looks similar it has a few leds in it and it loosk crappy when lit. I don't know what theyed used them for. try and test it with the diode setting on your meter.

Thanks, at least I know what the black things are. The three prong ones came in a goldmine surprise box, and I can't find anything to match the part #s anywhere.

The 3 pin transistor things... Typ ground the big pin, and hook up the one on the other side to a power supply (current limited at like 10ma) and give the other a little voltage and see if you get any gain...
