One question.

If I put in a MOT and a NST, would the shipping price go up alot since that they weigh a ton?

Otherwise sign me up. I've got tons of things to put in.

Flat rate priority mail boxes are unlimited in weight. It's not technically unlimited, as I think they cut off at 70lbs or something like that, but it's more weight than you're likely to be able to cram in there.

Unless the only thing you cram in there is block of iron or something that is very dense, but Really there'd be no point.

Or Iridium at 1,300lbs/ft^3 (21 kg/m^3), twice the density of lead.

You never know when someone needs Iridium for... whatever you'd use Iridium for cheesey

I'd love to see the post office deal with a package weighing a couple tons.

I think Osmium and Iridium are the same density to like 3 decimal places, and IIRC both are worth over 400USD per troy ounce. So if you want to put a block in, just make sure I get the box next tongue .

Also I hear Osmium's toxic.

Back on topic, when do you think the box is due to start, Chris? I know there probably aren't enough people yet, but is there a goal number of participants set?

EDIT: HAHA, beat me to it Shaun!

Funny you should bring that up!

Actually I was a bit off in Iridium's density, it was from memory cheesey

"a density of 22.65 for iridium compared to 22.661 for osmium" -periodic.lanl.gov

So Osmium is a little heavier. Unless you wanna get radioactive, in which isotope 271 of Hassium wins at roughly 41g/cm^3. Although Hassium-271 has a half life of 21 sec (and obviously cannot be made in real quantites). angry

BTW, I might be able to pitch in on this box once I'm in college.

If it is 21 kg/m3, then you could make a nice raft out of it...did you mean Mg? (not magnesium, Megagram)

Yeah, it shoulda been Mg. Were not talking about a really heavy gas here. cheesey (thats about twice the density of radon, instead of twice the density of lead)

And its 22.65g/cm^3 anyway. 21 was from memory and a bit off.
