Guess I can't really claim this as my own work, as most of it was a kit from eBay, but thought I would post it in this thread just incase anyone is looking to buy one, and wants to know what it's like
Uses 2 FGL60N100BNTD IGBT's half bridge
Bridge caps are 250V @ 1800uF each * 2
Tank cap is 3 942C's in parallel
Input, ~40W (12VAC @ 3.3A)
Spark output: Big enough! With the right tuning, about 45cm is achievable, but I haven't tuned it completely yet.
Has 2 adjustable modes, Normal mode is a single bang, about 1BPS, and Burst mode is a couple of bangs per second, rest, couple more bangs etc.
Really bad video snap:
I love this coil, despite accidentally blowing the IGBT's by shorting the bridge caps into their gates. Can run for hours and hours without overheating :)
It's an extremely nice kit, and a great way to learn about tesla coils if you are new to them :) Just watch out for those pesky capacitors!

Hello
First Sorry for my bad English, im from Germany. I will show my first cail its a SGTC the Secondary is on a 11cm Tube with 1333 turns of 0,32mm CuL. As highvoltage source i am using a NST with 5KV and 85mA that loads a capacitator with 55nF wich i made of Wima FKP 1 capacitators. The Spark Gap is made put of Copper tubes.
The pictures are old now the spark lenght is about 80cm long that you can see in the Movies.

Hi, everyone!
This is my first post. I hope it's well received.
I figured I'd start off by posting some pictures of my baby coil. I built it a few years ago, and as of now it's part of a new twin system that is giving me a challenge.
Specs:
Power: 7500V 30mA NST Secondary: 10" ~910 turns of 30ga wire on a ~1.9" PVC form Top Load: Toroids 8" x 2" and 12" x 2" Fres: ~415.024 kHz Primary: .163" solid copper wire .2" spacing tapped between 7 and 8 turns Tank Cap: MMC of cheap film caps .0106uF Spark length: 15" of hot fat streamers. It's done a LOT better with a good ground connection.
Not a full-power run.
The new twin system has two coils identical to this one powered by two 7500V 30mA NSTs. I'll post pictures if/when I get it working.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to learning and growing through my membership here.

So here is my latest project, still needs a bit of tuning, and some upgrades to achieve maximum streamer length. It was started amlost 2 years ago when i got laid off and had a bunch of free time and various materials laying around from prior projects. I intentional made the primary oversized and its not permenantly attached to the housing so i can experiment with different top loads and also coupling hight.
I'm going to change all the wiring to much heavier gauge at some point. along with adding a fan for quenching the gap. I have noticed that on longer runs the air becomes so ionized that performance suffers. Too, Im sure a proper HF ground will help a bunch.
I want to thank 4hv and its members for all of the information to be had here.
