Bust_A_Cap hasn't reported receiving the box, nor is he signing in to 4hv.org. Hopefully it's just a case of being too busy combined with spring break. Not much we can do but wait for it to turn up, unless anyone knows how to get in touch with him off-board.

If you check his/her profile (Link2 he hasn't been online for 8 months, I don't think you'll hear from him/her again...

Wow, 8 months... He's either lost interest or found a MOT whilst it was turned on.

Shall I start another box. I don't mind taking that on as I'm the one that sent the box to /dev/null

You can email Bust_A_Cap at sam_ham88 AT hotmail.com a little googling shows he's an ME student, so it is quite possible he is just busy.

This is very disappointing. If a new Junk-Box is started, maybe we'll have to confirm that the person is still interested in receiving it and that we have the current address just prior to shipping. With all the foreclosure and so many of members being school age folk it is surprising that this the first time it has gotten lost.

I was thinking about putting together an "RF Project Box". For those of us who are also interested in RF Specific.

Only allowing long term or "hard-core" members to participate might be a good idea. This system is based on trust, making someone with some history on the forum much less likely to abandon the community for a box of junk. Or you could make the new members pay a damage deposit. tongue

It went to an off-campus address. Seeing as how he's not answering email or private messages, we can only guess as to what may have happened to the box. It's likely he's no longer there, and the current residents dishonestly kept the box rather than forwarding it or returning it, probably opening it in hopes that something valuable was inside. Keep an eye on eBay. If stuff from the box turns up, we can involve the local authorities. From here on out, each person on the list will have to PM the next person, and confirm that the mailing address is correct and that the person is still interested in getting the box.

In the meantime, nothing we can do but start another. We've got one volunteer. Anyone else interested in getting another box going?

Send it my way. Promise I won't hold on to it this time, and seeing as I'm prepping for a major move, I've got a ton o' junk to unload on some poor fool.

Edit: Heck, *I'll* start it and send it to Staci. Perhaps lock and remove the sticky on this thread and start a new one to reconstruct the list of participants?
I'll have the box ready to go by Monday or Tuesday.
