Well, we're planning to run two 10-15kW DRSSTCs from these guys. Probably will turn out into something interesting, wireless Tesla energy tricks and such, you know cheesey

3.2V 200Ah each LiFePO4, 26 pcs total. Each can give out at least 1-1.5 kW CW.

Yeah, you should build an electric car with a Tesla coil mounted on the roof. smile

My Gun V2 uses 96 lipo cells in series for 400V max. Ive pulsed them to 120A pretty regularly. They are Turnigy nano-tech brand, 2.2Ahr 25C (50C burst) rating. The batteries are fused at 20A so the average current is relatively low, operating in the 5kW range usually at most for gun use.

Pics can be seen on my flickr (may have to look back a ways) as ive yet to spend time documenting these projects.

Anyway, i think LiPo batteries make for an ideal power source for tesla coils but do use a fuse! Shorting these things is really quite dangerous, they can possibly catch fire and turn your project into a melted pile of slag. They deserve much respect for their size.

There is some really nice pictures there great work! I actually punctured a lipo with a screw driver it was a mess had to sit it out side to do its thing. I may also experiment with the secondary by adding more than one layer of windings with good insulation hmm.

These are the cases where fuel cells and high power batteries really show how voltage is low, ( especially at high current ) each cell. So we waste mass and volume to series them up for a useful voltage.
