I'm looking for some direction here.
Basically a business partner has bought an gold electroplating kit the 50ml 'Gold Solutions' in the kit is a potassium gold cyanide solution.
What I'm looking for is some direction as to the safe handling and useage of the solution... a pointer to UK CoSHH regulations would be good, and or what licensing requirements there may be, as yet I can find no info. I've already done a lot of reading up about the hazards, but any and all safety tips would be appreciated.

This is likely to help you a lot more.
Was there any safety data with the stuff? I see the supplier quotes prices in £ so I guess they are UK based. If that's right then they are legally required to provide safety data for their product; ask them for it.

Thanks BC, unfortunately without the data from the supplier I'm no further along the way
I went the HSE route and found nothing from their search, and am awaiting a reply to directly asked questions via email.
I also requested the info from the company (yep UK based)... their reply 'data sheets are available (on request) to all customers who purchase our chemicals.'
As it stands, tomorrow, I'm supposed to be helping out in gold plating 'something', trouble is that my business partner doesn't seem to comprehend that this stuff could kill him.
