I developed new SSTC interrupter. I call it "i2". The interrupter has several cool features such as:

*It accepts standard MIDI interface.
*If you install memory IC, it can play MIDI from internal memory without using PC or laptop.
*Multiple interrupters can be connected in series - thereby, they can play midi file together (either from PC, midi keyboard of internal memory). Each SSTC can play its own part or can be grouped with another one.

*It can do all those things that ordinary (based on NE555) interrupters can do, and even more ("i2" has 3 modulators, and singleshot feature ).
*all modes that activates SSTC uses "dead men's button" - SSTC works only while FIRE button is pressed.
*Hardware and firmware parts of "i2" are designed as safety-critical. Lots of self-check are implemented, watchdog is used to detect microcontroller halt condition.
*"i2" uses firmware USB, so no expensive chip like FT232 required
*PC part of "i2" (I call it "icontrol") is used to download midi files or configure user modes on "i2"
*new revision of board and schematics supports DRSSTC
*"i2" is released under GPL license.

The only con is that all documentation is in Russian. Nevertheless, you can use Google translate to read my articles

Thank you.

Great work, on both the board and SSTC.
I think a nice case is in order :)

Just had another look at your coil through google translator, some really nice work you do there. It's a pity that Youtube doesn't do subtitles. Your i2 is very clever and neat. Keep up the good work.

The enclosure for "i2" is in progress now, as well as some debugging.

I had some spare time and draw interrupter's PCB in 3d. The drawing has no practical purpose, but it looks beautiful to me.

After spending some time with debugger and drill, I have finished my i2.

You can take a look at it's enclosure here

Firmware is bugless now, and interrupter is totaly stable.
