I have seen dozens of soap bubble recipes, all claiming to be the best, last the longest, and make the biggest bubbles. Some use glycerin or corn syrup, some swear by Dawn or Joy soap, and all have differnent amounts of water added. What is your best recipe/the one you used as a kid?
Mine, to start it off: 1 part Sunlight liquid soap 3/4-1 part water 2 tsp glycerin

Naw, I have used a large amount of dawn soap in water. I have the recipe somewhere, I think it was like 1/4c per gallon. That used to work well as long as you didn't get alot of bubbles going on top.
BTW, my grandmother used a recipe similar to that.

After reading through one of those science kit booklets, It appears your recipie is popular, Heiders. They say .5 cups dish soap, .5 cups water, and 2.5 tsp. glycerin. Mr. Bubble can be alot of fun if you have a neighbor with a fountain in their yard. Plastic coated coat hangers seem to be the best material for making bubble loops too.

"The Unbelieveable BUBBLE Book" says the best recipe is 1C of yellow Ultra Dawn or Blue Ultra Dawn, 3-4 Tbs of glycerine (optional) and 12C of clean cold water. On especially dry days, you can add up to 50% more.
The book comes with the Unbelieveable bubble wand and pictures of the author blowing like 20ft long bubbles and round ones like 6' in diameter. I actually forgot I had it until now. My mom didn't like me using a cup of dawn just to blow bubbles.
It says to avoid getting bubbles on top, and that high humidity is your friend. Shade is good, wind is bad. Morning is the best time to blow them. He then goes on to explain the life cycle of a bubble and how it turns gold/black before death.
