It is possible to make nitric acid using sulfuric acid and pottasium nitrate without distilling it. You need to let the metal salts settle to the bottom and then just poor the clear nitric acid from the top. look up lazersteve's page on cold nitric acid production.

It is possible to make your own sulfuric acid by thermally decomposing (heating) iron pyrite and mixing the sulfur crystals with water, it is dangerous though, and you should only do it if you know exactly what you are doing.

you can also make sulfuric acid by the electrolysis of a solution of copper sulfate in water. Use a lead or platinium electrode for the positve and a copper electrode for the negative. Once the solution has turned clear just boil down the diluted acid.

Not only will it give you sulfuric acid, it will also electroplate the metal you are using if you use a zinc electrode. It's fun to do this, and I do it often, seeing as I have a gallon of it at my house.
