Ok ladies and gents, I liked Steve's idea of posting his station for all to see, so heres your opportunity. Whether its just a hand held and a rubber duck antenna, or if you're sporting the latest and greatest technology, we want to see your ham shack and all your toys.

I'll start things off with mine.

1139718346 16 FT0 Shack1

You can see my FT-857 on the 40 meter PSK station, my craptop 500Mhz laptop running Knoppix Ham Shack Hack and G-PSK31. Just to the right of the laptop is my TH-F6A triband HT. The blue glow behind the HT is my external HD, and my CW paddles are directly below the monitor. Above the laptop is my Dentron 1500w 1.8-30Mhz tuner, radioshack swr/fs meter, 150Khz tektronix portable scope, and MFJ cross needle meter. My Textronix 922 15Mhz scope is in the lower left corner

1139718346 16 FT0 Shack2

On top of my 10Mhz B+K scope is a 10Hz-3Ghz frequency counter and an old Uniden scanner. Above that is an Icom 144Mhz single band handheld.

1139718346 16 FT0 Shack3

Hanging from the lamp above the computer monitor is an FRS radio hacked to run at the very top of the 440Mhz ham band. And yes the thin black rod sticking above the desk is a 5/8 wave 144Mhz antenna. My VHF/UHF antennas are on the ground for maintnance right now, so a stand-in was needed.

My homebrew 35A 13.8V psu is out of sight below the desk, with 3 car batteries outside the window for backup power. Also just to the left of the the desk is a second desk with my web/ftp server and all my parts organizers.

My antennas are mostly down right now. I've got a 200' random wire up about 60' in the trees for 1.8Mhz and 3.5Mhz. For everything else I've got a 102' G5RV up 50' oriented northeast/southwest. I've got a set of 144/440 7 element quads on a 30 foot tall folding mast outside the window, and a set of 144/440 Texas Potato Masher satellite antennas on a roof mount. Shortly a 3 element 54Mhz Spider Beam will go up on a 40' tower for 6m work. The only other things not included are my as yet unfinished set of tube amplifiers for 1.8Mhz-144Mhz. They all utilize two GI-7B tubes in grounded grid configuration for around 1kw output theoretically. Those wont be finished for some time though.

So lets see your shacks!

Dave

Post a picture of your power supply, Dave. I don't think I've ever seen it..

Here's my shack. It consists of a single radio stuffed between my computer and monitor. Lots of noise? You bet. At least I have an LCD to use when I'm using the radio (the CRT is my main display because it sucks less). The rig is an Alinco DJ-V5T, I have performed the wide rx/tx mod on it, and when it's hooked up to external power (I use my computer PSU) it puts out about 7W. The coax goes out the window in the background to a ringo ranger 2m/440 vertical on my roof. As is often said about omnis, it radiates equally poorly in all directions. It's enough to get into the repeaters around here though.

not a real picture of mine, but this is the same setup. I now only run with an inside antenna, probably soon a wire antenna on our big roof :)

*mod edit by Steve Conner: Mah picture is too big

No pictures yet, but I have just purchased a 1 watt PLL transmitter kit from Veronica smile

This thread, and posting my old kit above, reminded me of the good old days, and I have always wanted a PLL TX but could never afford it. That dipole I posted hasn't seen any action for about 3 years now, it's time for some PLL fun.
