My music taste varies, but I am quite a metal-lover. Right now, I'm really into folk-, celtic- and viking-black-metal. Bands I listen to include Ásmegin (Norwegian Viking Metal), Bran Barr (French Celtic Black Metal), Cruachan (Irish Celtic Metal), Lumsk (Norwegian Folk), Einherjer (Norwegian Folkish Viking Metal), Otyg (Swedish Viking Folk), Arcturus (Norwegian Metal), Finntroll (Finnish Humppa-Folk Metal), Arkona (Russian Pagan Metal) but also bands such as Children of Bodom (Finnish Agressive PowerMetal) and Wintersun (Finnish Melodic Metal).

I can also appreciate other kinds of metal, (hard)rock but also classical music by composers such as Edgard Varèse, Igor Stravinsky and Claude Debussy.

Wow, I never knew there were so many kinds of metal O_o I used to listen to a lot of stuff like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Megadeth and Pantera. But one day I heard some drum'n'bass and I reckoned it had more of whatever I liked about metal, than metal did! Then I thought "Surely I can program my computer to make noises like that" and that was the start of a long journey that got me where I am now.

My Soundgarden albums still get played quite a lot though smile

The gig was a success! whee!

You can listen to it here in the form of a 42 minute long mp3 (30MB) Most music players should stream it to save waiting for a download. I'm streaming it through Winamp right now as a test. The last 5 minutes are missing and I have no idea what happened to them :-<

Set list:
Pictures Of The Floating World
Shark Dude
Radio Teletype
Time And Motion
Snow
Mace
In Rust We Trust
Contents May Settle In Transit
Tungstene 608
Forest of Sensors

Hey, Alfons! Yeah, Children of Bodom is amazing! Have you ever heard of Black Dahlia Murder? They're pretty different from COB, but you might like them.
Glad to hear the gig went well, Steve

Awesome, Steve! I've heard a couple of those songs, I like Mace quite a bit. Maybe I'll download that 30MB mp3 some time.

I listen to metal most of the time, mainly Norwegian Black Metal, but also other kinds of metal. Emperor, some Enslaved, Windir, Satyricon (mostly older stuff), Old Man's Child, Arcturus, The Kovenant (mainly older stuff from when they were named Covenant) and propably some other ones that I've forgotten right now. Other music I listen to includes Rush and some Pink Floyd.

Alfons, I never realized Asmegin were Norwegian, I guess the Danish song titles confused me.

Well for sure one of the best rock bands ever is AC/DC. If there is only one band that has stood the test of time AC/DC is it!! I mean their first album came out way before most of the people on this forum were even born and they are still very popular.

I remember an interview from the BBC a few years back with the lead singer Angus thats was some what amusing.

Interviewer: "Is it true that AC/DC stands for Anti-Christ/Devils-Child?"
Angus: "What are ya talking about? AC/DC stands for power. I got it off me moms sewing machine....I mean with albums like 'live wire' and 'high voltage' I think the meaning of the bands name should be obvious."

Please note these are not exact quotes but are the basic jist of what was said.

Heheh indeed; but hey, what's in a name?

Hey, Alfons! Yeah, Children of Bodom is amazing!
Indeed! I saw them live a couple of months ago and they were great!

No I haven't; may download a song of them soon.

Alfons, I never realized Asmegin were Norwegian, I guess the Danish song titles confused me.
I don't know what language the titles are in since I don't know Norwegian nor Danish tongue The site says they're Norwegian anyway...
