Im wondering about the schematics for the audio amplifier on this page: For my audio tesla coil (yes, still working on it ), which circuit should I use? Figure 1 "Typical Audio Amplifier Application Circuit", or Figure 2:"Single Supply Application Circuit"?

If you're driving a Tesla Coil with the amplifier:
I did some work with the 22W BTL and I wasn't impressed with it at all!
The 50W looks promising as a driver, but I really think you need to go push-pull to get anywhere, otherwise you're just not pushing enough energy into a system.
So what I would probably resort to is designing a power supply for 2 amp modules and go push pull.
I would be concerned with strikes because one shot is going to destroy the amps.

The plan was suggested by blackplasma, which requires floating the gate of the mosfet at ~4V with a voltage divider, then connecting a audio amplifier to the gate and source. The +from the filter capacitor and bridge rectifier off mains goes through this modulated mosfet, then to the rest of the bridge. The audio comes from pushing the mosfet in and out of full conduction. In this case, it doesn't neccessarily need to be push pull right? That amplifier should be plenty, i believe, and it has a really large Vcc range- 24-84V, so I should have a transfomer that will work.

A diagram of what you want to do would help a lot.
If you're just sending the modulated signal to the mosfet that's driving your TC I can't see how you would need anything more then a couple of watts of power.
Now if you're directly driving the primary with the amp, and AM modulated with your audio then you will need quite a bit of power.

Here it is. I think it has to be a good amplifier because it has to supply enough current to ghange the gate charge very quickly for good audio reproduction.

On the contrary, I would say that the MOSFET gate needs hardly any power to drive it at all, at audio frequencies.
Now, Nelson Pass's Zen amp is a very simple audio amp using just one MOSFET. If I were doing this my plan of attack would be to build a Zen amp, plug a walkman into the input, and replace the current source transistor in the Zen amp with my SSTC H-bridge. You would be modulating the negative rail instead of the positive, but I don't see how that would matter much.
