Further to Steve's suggestion, here is the Geek of the week thread. I also nominate Andrew for making us all jealous and NOT losing his lunch, whether it be assisted or not.

I've already nominated Andrew due to getting a ride on the vomit comet and his work with ferrofluid that was so classy, about.com stole it :-@ If nobody else gets more than two nominations by the end of Sunday, he gets it.
Maybe we should make a separate sticky thread and invite each week's geek to post a picture of themselves and a blurb.
I tried hazmatt's experiment, and Google thinks I am a real estate agent in Carrolton, Texas. The "real" me appears somewhere on the 7th page of hits.

Dude, if you aren't aware, how does that count? Or even work? Even my social skills aren't that bad.
Also, how geeky is she? I'm comming up on a month with my bella, and she's nearly as nerdy as I. Knows lines from Star Wars, laughs at math jokes... _loves_ the idea of HV, very encouraging to rebuild the projects I've fried and give her a show... once I finish the sonoluminesence setup and 6" telescope, and... but she encourages all that, too. Finally, a gal who understands polyprojectitis! Oh, and did I mention she's a model, too?
... yeah, I'm waiting to be hit by a bus, too. Meteorite, maybe?
EDIT: Forgot to add *steals blackplasma's thunder* Seriously though, congratulations, mate. We're all rooting for you (even if some of us are only using sudo.)

The first 4hv Geek Of The Week is *drum roll* Andrew! I invite you to start a Geek Of The Week Winners thread in this board and post a picture of yourself and a thank-you speech
I guess you can now start voting for next week. I nominate Mike Harrison (mikeselectricstuff) for his stunning work in reverse-engineering a Kodak high-speed video camera, building a digital recorder for it using FPGAs to replace the old tape-based recorder, and shooting some cool movies at 1000 frames/sec. See his thread in the project board for details.
Mike also built a 1 million volt Marx generator and runs the popular electricstuff website, which was one of the sites that encouraged me to get into HV in the first place. He even has that rarest of geek qualities, a sense of humour, that manifests itself in devices like the Destructotron and the Jacob's Ladder-o-Phone Of Fire.

Ill second the nomination of Mike Harrison
After seeing his high speed camera in action last weekend. He deserves it just for the incredible amount of hardware and software he has had to put together to get images out of the camera.
