 		A few years ago my hugh school Chem teacher showed a video like that of a proffesor friend of hers who had 20 5lb cylinders of sodium, He took them to a gravle pit or something where a pond that was used for something had become too acidic with sulfur, and so he'd toss in a small peice of it and you'd see it explode in the water then you'd see it hit somewhere else and explode again it was small but amusing, however it was really cool when he he tossed a WHOLE 5lb chunk into the water and it bounced around and exploded all of the pond.

What did they use that much sodium metal for?

 		Industry uses it by the traincar/tonne at less than $1 per pound. It has many uses, but I don't know what the primary usage is.

 		This video makes me cry...I would have "accepted the sodium for transport to purchasers" with no hesitation whatsoever!

Of course, I would have probably done the same thing they did eventually, just on a smaller scale.
