Hi All,

The 2007 Cheesehead Teslathon (9/8/07 in Baraboo Wisconsin) was a blast. The highlight of the evening had to be Steve Ward's and Jeff Larson's twin DRSSTC's and the debut of "Tman" (local coiler Terry Blake) in his self-designed personal Faraday Cage. The coils are being modulated by two MIDI ports off a laptop PC. Steve can provide additional details. The following is a short clip showing Tman getting zapped from both coils, lighting a string of 120 volt light bulbs, and shooting sparks from his feet. The coils (and Terry) performed flawlessly! This is REALLY something you don't see every day... cheesey

Cool video Bert. Notice how far Jeff's coil arcs to connect with Terry's head at the start of the clip! I wonder if Terry shorting out my coil was causing it to shunt a little more energy into Jeff's coil... i dunno but thats one heck of a long spark (must be 12 feet at least given the coils are at least ~18 feet apart).

Jeff's "clone" seemed to be outperforming its original. Im not sure but i think part of it has to do with the fact that the current limit was kicking in on my coil, but not on Jeffs (since i apparently didnt set it right with my first wild guess). In any case, it was a fantastic show, even if i wasn't making the biggest sparks wink

Now i must get the phase control implemented into my controller so that we can hopefully get connecting sparks spanning 18'+. Go solid state!
