I have built a dual superhet recever monitering around 49.845mhz. The first local osc. is a 39.150mhz which then downconverts the signal to pass through two narrowband 10.7mhz ciramic filters. Then the IF is then converted by the second local osc. 10.695mhz to audio. Below is a pic of the best screen capture of a FSK square wave.
W4DEX is the only person I know that has a 49mhz beacon and his discription does not match what I have received.

I doubt its a beacon. Its difficult to tell from the screen capture, but it appears to be either a constant carrier and a separate carrier being modulated with a square wave, or a single signal.
You're only a couple kilohertz from the 49.86 'junk band'. This band is used for everything from cheap walkie talkies to RC toys to wireless door bells and computer peripherals. There are literally thousands of possible sources. I'd wager that its local, if it is in fact an unlicensed radiator. Prowl around and see if you can find a source.

Right now I can receive the signal, sometimes it fades out a few hours at a time. Sometime the signal tends to drift a few 10s of hertz. Unfortinatly, I do not have a labtop computer to go mobile to find the source.
