Coworker and fellow TC'er Nick Harlson test-fired his coil this last weekend using a new toroid he just finished building. It was made paper mache-style using news paper and polyester resin over an inner tube. Once the polyester resin hardened into a nice plastic donut, he wrapped this in aluminum tape. Seems to work well, but no long-haul test results are available yet I thought I'd share his production photos for those interested in fab'ing their own big toroids.

That is a pretty cool toroid (and coil too). That aluminium tape approach seems to work well for bigger toroids. All the small ones I have tried to make didn't come out so well, though.
