This is my newest project.

I call it my Concept coil, it's kinda a prototype for more like it to come.

The coil will resemble a train when finished. Some of you may see the train already.

The plate voltage is 850V
It uses a matched pair of 8298 tubes. (Beefy 6146)
I am still working out some of the details.
The Secondary is 2" OD wound with approx 950 turns of 30.
I want to use the Yish on the nose as the plate cap
Nothing is wired yet.
Planning on making it a power supply as well with a terminal having 5V 6.3V and 850V

Any input welcome.

I like it, looks pretty cool and I can see the train! I'm sure it'll look really good when your finished it, are you going to add lights? or are you going to go with just the glow of the tubes?

There are allot of ideas knocking around up there, none of them have involved lights until you mentioned them, maybe...

It may end up being a CW coil with a Full Wave Rectifier
It may end up with parts from a toy train attached
It may end up becoming something other than a train at this point.

I've also had an idea of putting an Ion Motor on top and leaving it pretty much as is.
