Hi All,
I have started my 4th DRSSTC build. The whole base is going to be 20mm thick white Acetal. I have attached pics of the base squares along with what will be primary former top and bottom rings. Next pic is a slab of Siemens IGBT's I will be using some of. Very kindly on there way to me thanks to Chris Hooper aka (plexi master). Thanks Chris.
This will be half bridge but running off 600VDC. around 400-500nF Tank cap. 6" secondary. not sure what drive circuit yet. May even go PLL just for fun.
I have started before finishing my gap coil as 1 project at a time makes too much sense.
Cheers
Colin

it will be completed for this years Derby 'thon?.......lol
I've seen video demos of your DRSSTC coils 1 and 2 in action,
haven't seen your DRSSTC 3 yet.

Whats the res frequency of your new coil?

All the best with your new project! ..... smile

Wow, those look like some pretty serious IGBT's.

Why only a halfbridge? Fullbridge is 2x the fun shades

Hi FirkAll,
Paul the only DRSSTC I have taken to a thon was in a terrible state!!! I was the first in the UK to try and didn't even know how to build a basic coil really >_<

The next 2 i sold before I got to thon!

Firkragg,
Those IGBT's are nice and i am using them seeing the results Chris had from them! Full bridge is fun and i might go that way.

Cheers,

Colin
