http://cgi.ebay.com/Giant-Megavolt-Tesla-Coil...

My BS meter is going off on this one, but I am not an expert, and I figured maybe one of you would know more about this coil, or the claims the seller is making.

if the seller is here: Seriously?

Yeah right, it would have to have a Freau factor of like 140 just to meet the minimum claim. Best I've ever seen is 2. It could get 80-160 inches though, I wouldn't doubt that.

That coil appears to have been built by Bill Wysock. Take a look at Link2 for some of his work.

The arc length is absolutely BS. It is clear form the description that the guy does not know anything about the coil and has probably never run it. But if you really want to know you can always ask the seller….

Seems real enough - spark length is a joke, obviously. Not worth $14,000 at all!!!!!!

Yes, I got a reply from the "owner"...

"Hi, my misunderstood what my boss told me, the device lighted the flourescents in the building 300 feet away, the bolts went up an average of 30 feet with some he thought topping that as they went higher than the top of a commercial tiltup building and then some. A police Helicopter was atracted by the display, he reported seeing it several miles away. The device draws 50 amps single phase at 220v. The coil was specially made and had extensive work and tuning done. I have not personally seen the device work as the last time it was used it damaged a lot of sensitive electronics within the building including the burglar alarm. We have far too many sensitive things inside our building to risk playing with something that produces strong EMP fields. Aparently a DOD sat did note the device the last time it was turned on, that was confirmed by the guy who built the device who called someone he knew."

Yah, right.....
