NST grounding

I apologize for asking this again, but I don't know if anyone notice this question which I posted several days ago. The ground on a NST is the mid-point of the secondary. If I have a Terry Filter where the HV terminals connect to two doorknob capacitors and a static gap. The mid-point of each is grounded. Do I still need to ground the NST?

You'll get as many different answers on grounding as there are Tesla coil builders, and most of them work fine. Personally, I would tie the NST winding midpoint, NST case, and midpoint of the Terry filter, all to green wire ground. This should give maximum NST protection at the expense of possibly sending crud back into the line. But IMHO YMMV etc.

And I was saying that Case ground and Midpoint ground are not the same thing on a GFCI NST. So you have to be careful which one you choose.

I ground everything to a ground rod. I don't even carry the AC ground near the coil.

I am not sure any two people have the grounds connected the same way though cheesey

Not sure about a GFI NST. I would ground everything that "can" be grounded...

Well, in the case of a GFCI NST I'd also disable the GFCI module and connect the winding midpoint to the case. The disadvantage of Terry's method is that the incoming hot and neutral wires are referenced to green wire ground, but everything else is referenced to RF ground. So if your RF ground is bad, the NST may arc over between its primary and its core.

Lately I have been apartment coiling with everything, includig the secondary base and strike rails, connected to the green wire ground suprised
