I have a 330uf capacitor on a switching chip on the V+ pin so it has enough amperage to drive the gate of a switch. Would I still need to add a 0.1uf capacitor for noise spikes, or is the 330uf capacitor sufficient to handle both situations?

Generally yes, you should add the 100nF cap. Check the impedance vs frequency spec for your caps, so you cover the areas needed
