Thanks Inducktion ,I was hoping I wouldn't have to get one yet, maybe March. If the 555 produces a stable fixed by foumla values, does the circuit I posted keep it about it, so I can do other tests?

With a digital frequency divider IC, you could bring the 555 oscillator frequency down to something audible, or even down to where you can visually time a blinking light. That might confirm that your DMM's frequency measurements are trustworthy, which they might well be at 50 kHz.

I measured the voltage from the lower MOSFETs gates to ground on the DC setting, and get about 2.6V, I think at 50% duty cycle it would be double that, but still below 10V. Is that because the upper MOSFETs aren't turning full on?

Just a update, each 9v tested OK, but when connected in series instead of 18v showed 6v. Added a diode from the 555 supply to isolate that, with a questionable 12v supply the frequency is stable at 48khz and shows 5-11V Ac.
Going to connect a laptop supply 19V 3.4A when I get a cloverleaf cable.
