The following picture, an advertisement for sunglasses with linear polarizers,
was photographed with a LUMIX DMC-FZ20.

OhnePolfilter400x297
First picture without polarizer

EVektor45GradzuryAchse400x285
second image: Polarizer, E-vector -45° to the Y-axis

EVektorparallelzurYAchse400x290
third image: Polarizer, E-vector parallel to the Y-axis, therefore 0°.

EVektorsenkrechtzuryAchse400x300
fourth image: Polarizer, E vector perpendicular to the Y axis, therefore 90°.

The second, third and fourth images were taken by using a linear polarizer,
wherein the polarizer position was fixed to the position of the subject.

I am looking forward to your comments.

Interesting.
Did you see the infamous "entangled polarizers" effect with 3 of them?

It is curious, at least for me, how the background changed color on the last one, like in a kinda like a negative image. But the black lines still black.

Hi Conundrum and AndreiRS

Ad Conundrum

Please, what do you mean with "infamous entangled polarizers"?

Ad AndreiRS

"how the background changed color on the last one"

Up to now I have no explanation for it but I will complete the series of pictures with one with the angle of +45°.

"But the black lines still black."

I think the black lines stem from black colour only.

There is the picture with the electric field vektor of the polarization filter + 45 ° to the Y-axis of the subject:

EVektor135GradzuryAchse400x274

My next experiments will be that I take the subject through a circular polarizing filter.
Furthermore, I will not illuminate the subject with unpolarized light like now, but with linearly polarized light.
