Hi Guys,
Just want to check if you have any insights regarding proper installation of IGBT modules. Specifically on how it is mounted properly on a heatsink. I tried to google but didn't find anything useful regarding this specific subject.
In my coil, I need to install IGBT module upside down (heatsink is on top and IGBT is installed with its terminal facing earth) --- any ideas if it would affect the performance of the IGBT? I'm thinking that the silicon inside the module would reposition itself over time due to gravity..

If the device can not be used up side down then it would be highlighted in the datasheet. I can't remember ever a power semiconductor device that needed alignment with Earth's gravitational field.
Voltage, current, temperature, humidity, vibration, mechanical stress and time are the common semiconductor killers.
