Hi, due to issues (cough envirowhineREACH /cough) I can't get these any more. NiMH are a pain as they need much more careful charging so my counter will likely need modifications if it ever burns out the cells in there.
Am I right in saying that the main failure mode is unlikely if the cell(s) read any voltage? Looks like they are just dead from prolonged storage and the fibre washers are kaput. Going to try the blue cure resin trick and make new ones, leaving vent exposed with a hollow flat ended needle. (hint: DONT DO THIS with Li-ion or Nixx cells that aren't completely discharged!) Two reading 0.315 and 0.296, one reads 0.180 and the fourth reads around 0.08 and is corroded.
The sad thing is I can't just replace them as cells of this type are hard enough to find in NiMH and only known source is new phone packs.

I actually just won a phone with identical battery, now discussing postage with the seller. Pretty sure it can be reconditioned as the cell(s) appear in fair shape and now I know what else breaks on the internal PCB I can bypass the issue. That reed switch is for the docking station in case anyone wonders.
