Hi I am in need of four 30kV DC flyback transformers. Preferably 200 watts or greater.

Does anyone on the board know a person or company I could contact to procure these parts?

Maybe try laser flyback transformers on Aliexpress.

What kind of specs are on those flybacks?

I was able to get 30kV 200 watt AC flybacks from a guy named Yuri in China but that was a long time ago and he hasn't responded to my email.

The laser flybacks I have seen on Aliexpress have too little wattage. I am using the flybacks to charge up a Marx generator, 390kV+ to 390kV-

They are 35 kV rated,
I do not know the current rating but a modest 3 mA would give 100 W per flyback transformer.

Robert Francis,

You should look at my previous work if your wanting reliable 200-300 watt output at 30-50kv. once you get above 20kv and 2 or 3 ma things get harder.

Ive gotten to 52kV and 200 watts, but watch out, dont expect efficiency of better than 60%. And continuous operation under oil of a potato sized flybacks eludes me. Your transistors will get flaming hot from that air gap in the core.

The rating provided is for the laser tube to be driven, not what the transformer delivers.

Robert,

Does Yuri sell AC HV flybacks? If you can forward his contact information I can ask myself...

Cheers.

1969 Panasonic was 36kV, and RCA did one as well. There is a company that supplies replacements, something like Van Diemen.

EDIT: May have been Hitachi, my memory isn't what it was.
