Well thats that, I am giving up on electronics because UK Customs are stopping every parcel with components in them.

Casualty list so far:
AVS12-HV *3 (from US)
E2prom programmer for BIOS chips
PS4 HDMI chip
V200 phone battery

My soldering iron element turned up, however when I try to order certain components Ebay throws a "unknown error occurred".

Ebay/Paypal notified us that our local government tax office had issued a Subpoena for every residents transaction history.
I guess they think that the already outrageous duty, taxes, and fees were not enough.

Our logistics are regularly rerouted, opened, and damaged by bore-holes/cutters.
I add 2 weeks to shipping schedules for customs-tards to finish their fun, and can only hope the labeled carcinogenic compounds were handled correctly.

State sponsored data-mining racketeering under the guise of a security theater is a profitable venture these days.
Change your account logins on a different computer/network, and get a motion-camera for your post box.

Recall also, some couriers like Fed-ex have their own customs clearance process that can bypass local issues.

Christmas is coming, and your local political office probably deserves appropriate gifts:

Interestingly the AS15's turned up eventually, seems that the seller didn't put
an air mail sticker on them!
