I I'm hoping for advice to improve this design. I'm after more of a drag type rather than a airofoil design.

I don't know if this will help with your endeavors, but it concerns homemade wind turbines.

I cant tell from your diagram if those things are hollow or solid or if hollow , which is the open face. If you want useful commentary you need to step back and ask yourself if there is enough info on your diagram for someone to build the thing without knowing whats going on in your head.

The only other comment I would make is that sharp corners are likely to create turbulence, which will lower efficiency. Most drag wind turbines I've seen use curved faces to reduce this.

Thanks for the link, there's a company that sells fandp complete sets, I'm not sure if I will put neos in to them, they say the 36pole stator can make 1.2kw.
The design is like the ones with the plastic drum but instead of a half circle it's a wedge, was thing moving up stream it would slice through easyer.
The wind is going from left to right.

Cheers

There's a computer program for blade design, the name escapes me at the moment.....Cfoil.....or something. Patrick might remember. It takes a bit of sussing out, but it is straightforward.

Xfoil

I don't know if from your pics those are triangular cups or not.

Are you trying to present less wind resistance to the advancing blade ? So more force is acting on the retreating blade ?

Yes, but at the moment I've simply erred to a flat sheet with a casing stopping the advance wind, the down side the torque isn't stable, and the wind direction effects it.
if you have a good suggestion will look into it.
Cheers mate
