I will demonstrate a slayer exciter in a class room with kids of about 7 years old. Is it safe to do so? Can I let them touch the spark with a little piece of metal? I ask this because I need to be pretty sure before doing it! Thanks...

No it is not something you should subject kids to, not even adults have an idea of the long term effects of conducting high frequency electricity through your body.
Among electricians there is a heightened risk of cardiac arrest, strokes, memory loss, epilepsy and other conditions related to a malfunctioning nerve system.
