Why use bang bang/delta sigma in qce buck drivers?

That kind of driver gives you very little control over the switchinf frequency, why does people prefer it over something like a closed loop tl494 driven one?It would allow a much better control over the frequency.

possibly because bang-bang is an almost fully digital solution, easily implemented by coders/hackers,
whereas a pll needs analogue expertise ?

It may havebtondo with that but inwas thinking that maybe it has to do with impedance.Maybe the bang bang one can also adjust the frequency to better match the impedance.

The buck control loop needs a wide bandwidth to follow the ramp signal, and switching frequency control is not important in this application, so it's actually a good match to the problem. The simplicity is just a bonus!
