I have used it for about 6-7 years, that is no guarantee that I can answer a advanced question :) Usually someone else have already made a plugin or workaround to any problem I ever had.

I'll give it a try. If you look at the website Link2 the column on the right that has the "follow me" section freezes once that part is reached. The main column on the left continues to scroll. I want to emulate this behavior for my daughter's blog. I've looked at the .php files but have no idea what needs modification. I've looked at a number of Themes, but none seem to have this behavior. I searched the Theme on this site and found it to be a custom Theme, which explains why I can not find it.

Any suggestions where to begin? I can read some books or tutorials, but I will need a push in the right direction.

I use word press. i had a local company write a custom template with a vertical menu which i paid for. but it was worth it. It was dam near impossible to find or use free generic ones in the theme catalog. so i know what your going through. they helped me alot, the whole WYSIWYG gui isnt always an accurate term, but the wordpress forum is where id start. other users helped me out.

heres my wordpress site.:

Link2 my site

Link2 remote sensing

Link2 HV

I fail to understand your problem, is that right side box supposed to move up and down as scrolled ? or stay put.

The right column scrolls with the main column until the end (when the "follow me" section is reached). Then it freezes. I left a message yesterday on the wordpress forum but I'm still waiting for a reply.

As I said, if you think something is missing, someone else have already made it :)

I use this "sticky widget" plugin for that exact behaviour: Link2 and you can see it at my site, it makes the vertical ad always being visible when you scroll down a long article: Link2

Haven't worked on it for a while. It's my daughter's site and she's busy studying for the ACT. I've seen the Sticky Widget before and that might do the trick depending on what she wants to do.
