I just got one today, and I'm a little irritated with it already.
For some reason the adjustment knob on the front panel doesn't behave as I expected.
For example, the function generator starts up with an output of 1.0 kHz @ 5 volts peak to peak. But if I select a digit on the display - say the digit corresponding to one kHz - and I try to adjust the frequency upward by turning the adjustment knob clockwise, the first detent position corresponds to a one kHz increment; and the second detent position corresponds to another one kHz increment, but when the detent clicks into the third position, the frequency jumps up by a two kHz increment.
In other words, if I'm at 1.0 kHz and I want to go to 4 kHz by turning the adjustment knob clockwise, it jumps from 1kHz to 2kHz to 3kHz to 5kHz.
I'm wondering, is this the way these Rigol function generators are supposed to be, or is mine "special"?
