Hi Guys,
I was wondering the purpose of this aggangement?
I’m guessing it makes it possible for streamers to exit in more directions toward the top
than just a single torus shape?

First of all - it looks amazing.
Then, it has no (relatively) sharp edges, so it can accumulate higher charge and produce longer streamer than, for example, single 300mm toroid.
Finally, if you can make this - why not? With such a topload your tesla coil will stand out even without having extra long sparks :)

Hi :)
It’s not a random pic, they are on eBay,
and I have the middle two.
They are definitely done well, and solid, not spun out of aluminium sheet.
Maybe then, I’ll try those two together and see what happens.

If the separation of the sections can be adjusted, the system can be tuned by variation of the secondary capacitance, in a Tesla coil, instead of the usual tuning by the variation of the primary inductance.

If it is a picture from ebay, isn't it just showing the different sizes that is for sale, and not a actual setup on a working Tesla coil?

They are available individually, or as a set though.
That’s the complete set on offer.
I just don’t imagine too many customers having coils suitable for all of this separately.

I’ll certainly update on how the middle two go together.
