Hi all. I came up with this after watching the latest "Mission Impossible"...
How about setting a challenge which seems impossible but can be done with someone who has enough skills in the art of kludge-fu, circuit herding and the Dark Arts.
For example, making a projector that fits into a Pi Zero, costing less than £20 but has a sensible resolution and only uses the same amount of power that is available from the 5V on the mini HDMI connector itself. It doesn't have to work all the time just when triggered from software. Bonus points if it recycles old hardware people would never think could possibly be used in this way. No cheating using wireless power unless the Pi somehow supplies it, or using a pre-charged battery.
Pics soon If anyone wants to attempt such a mind boggling feat, they have until midnight on Februrary 29th to present a Youtube video of their completed hardware and software via dropbox or other service.
Prize is as usual a box of goodies which has indeterminate mass, sent by SD/etc.

It's too late, and I don't have any unused ones around, but a fairly simple way would be to use a small LCD from cell phone etc.., few mods to the casing, and you can use it as a projector.. Problem comes with getting the right driver for the lcd, as many of those are not easily salvaged.. But if brave enough to try, go for it.. Just wanted to share..

Intriguingly I found the camera this screen was pulled out of. I think its basically a 1st gen micro LCD probably analogue, B/W but has a white LED backlight and polarizing sheet on its front.
