IMHO you're confusing the real world results with formulas & 'experiments' I'm confused...

The only thing I calculated was resonance frequency.

The results came from me moving a calculator along a ruler to see when it starts to crash.


edit: I not only tried different heights from the coil, I also slid the calculator forwards and backwards to find the weakest point.

 		I guess what I was trying to ask is that (do) you know you have a totally non-homogeneous field and that moving the calculator (with -many- weak spots) around inside it is FAR from moving a mathematical point in a 3D field.
and: the field strength -anywhere- off-axis to a loop of the current-carrying wire's turn(s) is painfully complex!

 		How do you suggest I conduct the experiment? All I care about is the range at which I can crash a calculator...

Why don't you try the same thing using your methods, and we can compare results.

I think I know why there is miscommunication... I was talking about my calculator frying results and forgot to mention it.

 		I did that experiment with a camera flash a few years back, actually crashed a similar calculator from across the room.

The RPi B+ has a camera flash sensitivity issue as well and apparently so do some smartphones because they use the same regulator.
