gonna use big heat sinks . freq up to 240khz

Id like to know which , and where you got IGBTs
OZ supplier?
Ive been aware of the "Fake parts" threads on here , gives me the willies

As long as you are buying your IGBTs from a trusted seller such as element14, Digikey, Mouser etc fake parts won't be a problem. You just have to be very careful when buying on eBay (or don't buy on eBay at all!) because pretty much every single fet or IGBT I've brought from there came from China, and I had a whole range of unreliable performance from those so-called "IGBTs" (some were dead short, others had much lower current rating than advertised etc)

If you could give us the big picture of what the project is that you need these MOSFETs or IGBTs for, this will allow others to contribute more holistic suggestions. At least it's very helpful anyway :)

I bought from RS , which is actually pretty cheap ...... suprised (what?)
also from Active components (Auckland) who get their stuff from mouser (world)

the circuit is drawn up by an old 70+ yr old australian engineer , its variable from 2.5 - 240 knz . only for experimental variable.

There was a research paper put out by some japanese using a Static Induction Thyristor by NGK , the spark plug co .
these components have been around for god knows how long BUT they have not been released to the market .
I have never heard of a SITh before or a Static Inducion Transistor .

the circuit they released has no real world detailed info as all research papers are pretty much gaurded

the circuit I have is just fast switching HV mosfet , I chose to stick with every component the ol guy saw fit = 4046 PLL , 40106 schmitt trig and 4420 driver .
no biggie , smple really
