I see a ton of ZVS flyback commercial drivers on eBay and others, but not very many reviews. Are they any good? Too cheap to bother with, counterfeited, etc etc?

Considering that that circuit is too unreliable to be used in any serious application, this fact can only be explained by the growing number of people without ability or disposition to solder a few recycled parts together...

It depends on what you are seeking.

The ZVS isn't known for being well regulated and controlled. You can get quite nice supplies based around PWM controller chips, that would be a better choice if you are up to something serious.

I would expect the boards to work, other than that I do not know.

I have purchased 6 of these in two different designs and they are great. I use these to drive my home-wound AC tarnsformers to make small 20KV Jacob Ladders which I incorpate into Steampunk "creations".
There are two designs, both are exact copies of the Mazilli ZVS design and both use top of the line IRF260 FETES. The c heaper sells for about $10 incl delivery and better one is about $20 incl delivery. Buy the more expensive as it has an integrated fan to keep FETS cool and the inductor on this design uses heavier wire on a larger torroid. I have run these continuously in a small space for hours at a time with no issues. The caps on both designs are MKP types rated 600V and they run run cool. You can't buy the same parts and build it cheaper yourself. It is not that I do not appreciate a DIY mind set, only for me, generating a 20KV Jacobs Ladder is only one small part of what I do so I only make what I can't buy.

Don't expect the MOSFETs to be genuine. they might say IRFP260 but they won't be.

Last time I checked there were many manufacturers of IRF260s. Whose are "genuine"???? First intro'd by Siliconix/Vishay and now " 2nd sourced" by many, FETS are a little more difficult to "fake" than handbags or sunglasses.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it's maybe a fake duck that works the same as a"genuine" duck? cheesey
Never had a failure so these must be good enough.

BTW, the epi- enter of analog and mixed semiconductor design and manufacturing has moved to China. They are not at the sub micron levels of Intel but for analog and mixed signal CMOS stuff they are challanging the Linear Techs and Maxims and their stuff is used in very high products from Cisco and Jumiper and lets not forget smart phones which are full of their stuff. Their capcitors are world class s they have a large domestic market for induction /heaters (think rice cookerfs), which use ZVS drivers.
If you are conjecturing that the FETS must be "fake" because of the attarctive price of the ZVS assembly, , I can tell you based from my professional experience that an identicsal part that you buy from a Distributor in US or UK can be purchased for 50& less in China made by same manufacturer at same volumes. It is called competition and a more efficient distribution channel. Maybe we are paying too much sad
