This is a "feeler" thread to explore possible support of versions of HV probes for those of us here on the 4HV forum and other garage HV'ers.
Im thinking, given my skills and experience (with a great deal of help from some here) with my previous HV probes here on the forum, I might be willing to sell to those of us who need and want the capability, but cant afford 2k$ probes.
Im investigating several versions (so far): 10 kV - $200 40 kV - $300
Though Id need to verify the bandwidth before I could allow myself to sell them. They work well and are fast for my purposes, but I need to verify output with similar probes, id need to verify 900pS rise time among other features (there are some things id change too in these new versions). Many of this similar capability probes cost 1,200 to 6,000 USD.
Im investigating the use of my 3D printer and other techniques to keep the price down. Id need to know if the support base is enough, or id just keep this effort to a few and myself. I also dont know if idiots getting a hold of them is going to make me back out of this.

Your market here is amateurs, we might dream about owning a calibrated 2000$ probe, but we never will. Therefore I think you should compare your prices with used 2nd hand equipment of the same ratings.
A amateur home-made probe would have the same guarantee, liability and calibration issue as a used commercial probe.
There is a lot of information on DIY probes, especially those in the lower voltage range like 10kV.
What I am trying to say, I think you are coming off too expensive.

Your main competition competition would be the tektronics P6015 oscilloscope probe. It has a 40KV rating and can be acquired for a few hundred dollars on the surplus market.
I guess the main question here is - can you provide something more than a commercial second hand probe. Because if I have to chose between a home made probe for around 300$ and a Tektronix made one (even second hand) in the same price range - I guess the winner is clear here.
Don't want to offend you or something . Great project this HV probe BTW
