Hi all.

Seems that a lot of sites could end up being blocked by UK ISPs very shortly as they feature extremism related information/etc.

The problem here is that there is no established system in place for permitting a site once it has been blocked and as is the case in China the typical tactic is to either completely block the site with a 404/domain not found or divert it to a similar though legitimate site.

A lot of the electronics and chemistry forum owners are also concerned about this for obvious reasons.

Fact: Criminals don't care about the law.
Even the ones trying not to get put in jail for their own best-intentioned-crimes against society.

Due process can't exist in a subjugated society without true privacy, and real free speech.
This lesson is learned many times by the forgetful, but few survive the course.

The loss of our own privacy by anyone with an MPAA/RIAA account is a simple way to exchange volumes of user information legally.
People no longer require just-cause to dig into other peoples' lives.
I voted against this matter in my own country, and learned quiet well funded persistence can get voting representatives to manage other peoples lives. Proving people on a non-individual basis are generally willfully ignorant of long term consequences.

Trotsky found out the hard way.

Controlling the internet will lead to communist / nazi / facist / socialist subversion of humanity. Fortunately information yearns to be free, even if it costs some bleeding and dying.

We Americans wont be far behind, in the name of safety. The Darpa giveth and the Darpa taketh away. I may be paranoid, but im also right.
