I've spent most of the day looking for a microwave oven inverter and only found half a core.

Does anyone have one from a dead inverter type microwave oven?

I'm in UK.

I myself have been looking for these too, the only one i found so far is on ebay and its in america, pricing: £190 + £30 shipping.... no thanks.

Id suspect if you can get friendly with some people who work at the scrap you might be able to get hold of some inverter ovens.

You can get them for £50 including P&P on Ebay, but one from a dead board will do. The IGBT's do blow, so scrap ones are about.

The recycling centres around here all have CCTV cameras to stop the workers letting you take stuff.

I've put an ad on freecycle, but I'll probably end up with loads of MOT's smile

Hi, I have one here still.
Any use?
Its from a Panasonic MW, I think it did still work because the maggie got red hot thanks to the cracked magnet.

I only need the inverter core, and maybe the bobbin, but the litz wire will be useful too. I don't need the silicon, or anything else, so it should be fine.

I'll send a PM, thanks, Andre.
