EDIT: All gone.

Brand new 34.5kV 10kVA pole pig for $300. He *was* selling *two* of them at one point .................... cheesey

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220208573166

Somebody on here needs the other one.

Not sure what I'll do with mine yet, but something "cool", I'm sure.

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE

...and if you get a pole pig, you might be interested in a lineman's handbook/manual on them. Here are a zillion copies of GE's distribution transformer manual for linemen:

Link2

The sample pages appear generally applicable to all kinds of pole transformers, though; I don't expect much to be GE-specific. This book certainly isn't going to tell you how to use a pole pig for a Tesla coil or Jacob's ladder, but some of the information on overloading, wye-delta three-phase banking, and so on should answer a lot of common questions about pole pigs.

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE

Standard and RF MOSFETS, Gate drivers

I've been bumping into this guy for a while - he only ships to US, and I wondered if anyone from this forum from US may have some use! Some of you might want to do a group buy since batches of parts are large.

Someone should pick up those RF mosfets!

EDIT: All gone for now!

Six 5kV 3.2uF Maxwell Pulse Caps

Something I wish I could buy, but at 900 a pop for bidding alone and 230 lbs shipping, no thanks. Article says they were bought from university surplus.

EDIT: Look at the picture. According to the faceplate, the measure capacitance is 2.35uf, rather than the rated 3.2. Still 3kJ from Maxwell though.

45 4kV 6.8nF PETP caps
60 4kV 3.3nF PETP Caps
32 4kV 10nF PETP Caps
100 4kV 3.3nF PETP Caps
Shipped from the EU, and markings are in Lithuanian (I think), but if that doesn't bother you the price is right. He has several other HV items for sale if you look in his store.

1200V, 5500A RMS SCR ------ Datasheet

This is probably the biggest SCR I've ever seen. It is 11cm in diameter and can handle a 10ms pulse current of 80000 amps.
