Ammonium carbonate would be good. Decomposes into ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water.
I would avoid ammonium nitrate, one of the products is nitric acid.

 		Well.....Ice REMAINS solid at STP for a while.......then disappears completely at 100C or over.

Dry ice also seems to fit the bill.....

 		One of the types of solid fuel tablets used in camp stoves might be a possibility. Hexamine (a bit hot); 1,3,5 trioxane; metaldehyde. Fumes could be a bit nasty though.

 		Mg acetate, turns to acetone at about 280c, and is a powder. mg sulphate and vinger or acetic acid will make it

what do you think happens to the magnesium?

Ammonium carbonate would work, but (like all the other things) the fumes would be a problem.
