What do you guys think of it and the new flight restrictions:

NO:
All liquids, except medicine and baby formula verified as authentic.
Food bought at airport.
Handbags.
All electrical and battery-powered items, including laptop computers, mobile phones and iPods.
Electric key fobs.
Wheelchairs, except those provided by airport.

I will offer my opinion...

It sorta scared the s*** out of me, considering that I am sorta on borrowed time as the last time my family flew anywhere my dad an I were flying united airlines flight 175 on Tuesday the 4th of september amazed It is a very good thing that school didn't start a week later or I would have been vaporised suprised The isn't the worst of it though, I am leaving for Europe next Thursday, and I will be taking the same flight as was just attacked frown

As to the security measures, I think that the clear plastic bag idea should have been in place a long time ago, but I just really, really, REALLY wish they didn't ban electronic devices. Reason being that I was planning to take my sony clie, a 4gb memory stick I just bought, and a few LiPo batteries and a hacked together charger to get me uninterrupted video/music for the flights/train rides/car rides/etc that will be happening in the next 9 days of my life... But now that I can't take it with me on the plane (which sucks enough, I was really looking forward to catching up on my south park/simpsons/family guy/futurama/etc viewing) I will have to risk checking it... I wonder if I can find a way to make it look like broken or something so it don't get it stolen cry I love that thing... I guess it is only about $300ish to replace it...

damn those terrorists!

Do they really expect people to trust the gorillas with their laptops/cell phones...?My GF is coming back from colombia in two weeks, and she has a large fragile laptop! And a puppy! Ill bet the gorilla will eat the puppy while trying to figure out what her laptop can stand(force).

Boy, those damn terrorists better be glad "I" dont get ahold of them mad
But, jeeze on part of the US too! What else are they going to take? "do to the new attack using exploding underwear, all passengers must fly butt ass naked!" How bout the US use their tax money for better technology to catch these asshats rather than give it to those who dont deserve it (I will now refrain from entering the political realm") wink

The BEST solution will boil down to not allowing ANYONE to be on board!Hows that for a solution?"Due to the fact we took EVERYTHING from the passengers, including the shirt on their backs, we now must prohibit humans from flying as well...." "Anything except for everything is allowed on board"

Come on now, who really needs to bleach their hair while on board the airplane?I for one would be QUITE pissed to know Im crapping my pants while waiting for some ass to dye his hair!

Matt

I concluded that the whole "terrorist" threat will be exploited by dishonest baggage handlers to make an absolute fortune reselling stolen laptop, Ipods etc.

BTW most "liquid explosive components" would melt plastic bottles, and besides tasting stuff does not mean anything (many harmful chemicals have no taste or smell)

At this rate you won't be able to take hand baggage at all, there goes another right. Pretty soon the USA will become a Police State :(

"Can I see your identification please? Hmm, says here that you're from outside the US. Please fill in this 30 page form, complete the Medical Screening test and hand over $100. Thank you for flying today."

How to make sure this doesen't happen:- Link2

Real sad for me as was trying to figure out how to carry little red to Cheesehead! Yes, I know I can ship it as DC said it was O.K. But would you ship little Red and wonder if it would make it to DC’s? cry

Dang it, I live so far away, I just can not drive. The terrorists have effected a 4HV member! No coil, no lap top and no camera. I might as well just give up going now! sad

damn those terrorists!

I rarely fly, live in a country which is largely gun free, and have only heard of terrorists in other countries. I live in a small coastal town away from "targets". Our biggest tsunami was 1.5m. It is sunny outside.
I still have HV fun.
Sorry to hear about your problems guys.

(mind you a 250km/h tornado did completely destroy 8 houses and damage 40 more on the weekend where I had been bike riding just 12h before)

There are plenty of crazy ass "christians" too...I am a christian, and also admit to seeing more wacko "christians" than normal. For instance, a christian killed the prime minister of Israel in the past when he was going to sign a peace treaty. Why? He had read in revelations ( a book in the Bible) that a peace treaty would mean the end of the world, he was doing Gods work(or so he says). Now why would any christian want to prolong the return of God?They crazy!

Im sure the post about muslim treatment was meant as a joke...Cant treat people based on their religion, faith, ethnicity..Just have to fight the terrorists with technology. Be intelligent..Just b/c a hair dye has bleach in it, and some teenager using the Anarchist cookbook could manage to blow off a finger, doesnt mean hair dye can be converted to a bomb with just a pinch of salt and a camera flash, held at the right angle... tongue

There was an article in a magazine I was reading on the plane Monday that stuck with me as had a quote “Civilization is just a slow process of learning to be kind.” Charles L. Lucas. So I will be positive here and hope someday (slow process) that all the crazy people snuff each other out and leave the kind people behind. This will allow our children to live in a genuine place of peace! smile

Cheers,
Ch_r

The posts by Hazmatt_(The Underdog) disappeared because they were not acceptable. There will be no more posts about Christians or Muslims. That sorts along pseudoscience and is strictly forbidden on the forum.
