Awhile back a made a thread trying to debug a PCB plasma speaker i made with no solution, I put it away for a later day.
circuit --- Link2
old thread--- Link2

Well today is the day, I was looking at it and after checking the circuit and traces over and over and over for about a year i cannot find any errors.

I was wondering if someone with more knowledge could give me a possible cause with the given symptoms.

IC stays cool when low voltage side is on. (15v)

Mosfet's are cool and in fact im sure are not turning on.

No current draw from the Mosfet side.

also this is my second make of this, the first one still works and hasnt had any issues.

Unless you provide some measurements from a oscilloscope, nobody will be able to help you.

What you just said is "There is gas in my tank, but the car wont move, I think the engine is not running. What is wrong with my car?"

You sure a part isn't blown? I've had that happen: WTF IS WRONG WITH MY CIRCUIT!!! Oh the 555 and LED are both blown. So check your components, they might be blown.

Same here, except mine failed due to the PIC getting its MCLR line fried and "half worked".
That was a pig to diagnose, had to resort to ordering a new chip and comparing it side by side before the problem showed itself.

Expecting someone on the internet to remotely debugging hardware without being to observe the waveforms/symptoms does not work. You might have better luck asking psychics as that's exactly what you are asking us to do.

A binary "does not work" only carries a single bit of information. At best we might tell you stories or how we would try to diagnostic such a problem or we "make shit up" to compensate for lack of input.

Have you try to follow the signal to see at which point it stops being not what you have expected? This assumes that you have an understanding of how the circuit work or run a simulation to get an idea what the results looks like.

Also have a clear schematic would help. My mind do not convert a pictorial layout of packages into an annotated form called a "schematic" with proper symbols. In doing so, it might also let you see where the signal is going and how it is different from the original form.

thanks guys, to bad i dont have a oscilloscope, i was just wondering if there were any common bugs that have the same symptoms as mine. I guess i will rebuild it.

If you have an identical circuit that works can't you just do a side by side comparison to see what's different

Even with no oscilloscope, you can see where voltage is an current flows with any mm. First see that there is voltage wherever it should be. If it all checks out, look to the mosfets gates. Are they receiving gate drive? An led or small speaker with a series resistor will tell you it it's pulsing. By no means can you get any waveform, but it'll let you know what's going on. If the gates are not receiving signals, work you way down the line towards the ic. Crude, I know, but it's all you can do with no oscilloscope.
