I like parallel-resonant zvs invertors - for continuous ac for charging capacitors the zvs is far from ideal; - inefficient at charging a discharged capacitor - lots more wire and cores for a given power than a flyback
Blocking oscillators are very inefficient due to the required core saturation so inefficient that they're only useful for low-power/low-cost applications.
For high-power, series-resonant or flyback are best.
This ic uses very few parts (comparable to a 555/mosfet flyback) and has easily settable charge-rate and stops once the capacitor is charged. Looks near ideal to me.
