Hi.
Not really, I got mine from a smashed light.
So far (i asked) it seems that its a public service to remove their smashed remains from the road before they get stuck in someone's tyre. so as long as you don't get greedy you should be OK.

Well if you can find those laying arround great for you I would be after the 50 led's and the big gell cells that are in the ones arround here... But that might be because I have >100 dip8 555's and 20 so-8 ones

Well even if I did have those kind of road lamps here it's far easier to just buy dip-8 555's for $0.45/pc. The road lamps here seem to use a cheap relay type flasher box like whats used in a car. (They make a clicking sound). Never really had much use for SMD components anyway. But yeah it is faily interesting to see a factory made device that actually still uses a 555..
