Somehow last week there was the week of broken instruments. A cheap DMM blew up for whatever reason. Now the major bad thing: My best scope lost horizontal deflection for the text display. Thats rather bad esp. on this one since it doesnt even have marked buttons but rather a central encoder knob and lots of illuminated sensor buttons.Nice as long as it works. The pic shows whats left of the option menu.
As i found out its incredibly hard to find a service manual (troubleshooting without one is hopeless on this instrument).
Ans also, my nice keithley 173A DMM blew, again i dont know why but could have been overvoltage.

The DMM could have been damaged by this since i had it plugged in for a whole night (had left the instrument breaker on because i had used a PSU for charging a battery which took a long time) but the scope was not on (unplugged) during any critical time.Actually it worked when i powered it up on that day, after a short time there was a click-like noise and then deflection was lost.
I dont think anyone else messed with my lab, since the main power supply is switched by a keyswitch, and without power its really dark there.Could be but that would have been limited to mechanical damage.Again, unlikely since i had a freshly-unpacked box of really expensive parts and they still were there.Anyone with wnough clue to mess with my instruments would have taken something.
