Hello, with some vacation time and a bunch of 10 uf 400V caps lying around, I decided to make a small voltage multiplier. It has 3 stages, each stage is formed with 3 caps in series, and 1N4007 diodes with 470 ohm resistors on each side. The final resistor is 0.6 Mohm. Powered with 2.4 volt fed to a disposable camera transformer. It is mounted on a piece of wood and the base is aluminium from an empty hair mousse bottle. It produces 3 Kv. Now that i have it, any suggestions what to do with it?

you got the camera transformer to output 1kv?
i just made a little 5+5 stage bipolar multiplier with 1kv ceramics and haven't come up with a equally tiny supply for it.

i'm not sure what you should do with yours. might be able to make a strobe light if you put a xenon bulb across the output.

The transformer outputs 500 volts approximately.

Think bigger:

This inverter takes 17V in and you can see the output. Details here: Link2
